On this occasion, La Fabrique de la Cité will present an overview of the major trends that drove the urban transformations all along this past year.
Winner of the Book of Economics Prize for "The hyper-industrial society - the new productive capitalism", Pierre Veltz defends the vision of metropolises as drivers of growth and places of concentration of knowledge. He showed that with globalization emerged an economy of archipelagos, which connects major cities between them, encouraging growth, but also inequalities.
Launched by the Société du Grand Paris and the prefecture of the Île-de-France Region, the international competition "Inventing the Greater Paris Metropolis" promises by its magnitude (51 projects, 7.2 billion euros of private investment, 2.1 million square meters developed), to transform the face of the Metropolis. The Pavillon de l'Arsenal, Center for urban planning and architecture of Paris and the Paris metropolis, invites the public of its new exhibition to discover the 153 finalist projects.
